I have a Tetra whisper IQ45 filter and these are the perfect fit. I have a large tank and so I go through a filter cartridge every 2 weeks or so. They can get pretty pricey buying them from the pet store but when I found these I decided to give them a try. These work just as well as the name brand one for my equipment at half the price. They last just as long as the name brand one for my filter unit. The poly fiber is durable and it has a decent fill of activated charcoal preinstalled as well, My recommendation to anyone who installs a filter with activated charcoal in it is to rinse it first before installing to prevent charcoal dust from floating in your tank and possibly harming your fish.

I was assembling my own filter carbon cartridges for my Whisper 30, 45gal. freshwater tank but, decided to try out these preassembled ones. The cartridges are nicely assembled with little packaging which I appreciate, the filter material is soft and fairly dense however, I did notice that there is very little carbon in each cartridge. I’m not sure how much that affects the effectiveness of the cartridge but, I did have to change the filter approximately 10 days sooner than I usually would have. It was very convenient to be able to just rinse the cartridge and pop it in so this is a plus. I’ve used 3 cartridges so far but, with the next change I’ll be adding some more activated carbon to the filter. Besides that I think they work pretty good especially for the price.
