We have a large fish bowl that usually would sit outside that takes quite a few gallons of water. I wanted to get a pump and aerator for the tank (though it’s not mandatory for this kind) and circulate the water better.I will say that it definitely does the job. It does it a little too well, in our case, however. Our tank is on the small side of the range of tanks this pump is rated for and our poor little fishies were having a hard time out-swimming the current when they got close to it. As a result, I can’t use it continuously.I think if I had a shield around the intake to better direct the water and protect the fish, this would be ideal, however, given the specific kind of tank this is, I can’t do that.If you have a tank over 15 gallons with proper protection, I think this pump would be great. I just won’t be able to use it all the time.

My husband has a 100 gal salt water tank & he has to do water changes at least once a week. We are using this to help circulate the water that we use for the water change-it has suction cups for adhesion & we placed it in a large tub/tote that we added water that had been run through an RODI filter. Then we add the salt & overnight this little blow that could perfectly moves water through to incorporate the salt. So far we’ve had no issues & will definitely buy again for our quarantine tank once we get it set up.

I had been struggling along with a carbon fish filtering system for years and I thought it was because I added in some pretty huge goldfish that my tank always looked so dirty (I had guppies before that) Well lo and behold I put this filter in, which looked a lot more basic, and in an hour my tank was so unbelievably clean looking that it even cleaned up all the gunk all over the plants and rocks. I was floored!! It’s now been going for a month and it continues to keep it spotless, I haven’t had to change the water once since this thing was put in! Plus it’s quieter than my previous one since it is IN the water as opposed to waterfalling into the tank. Definitely recommend this one!
