- Lifesaver: Keeps baby fish, shrimp, and snails from getting sucked into hob filters, power heads or canister filters by simply putting a pc of this pre-filter sponge over the intake.
- Improve Filtration: Does a good job in catching flake fish foods, plants and any other large particles floating in the water keeping the tank cleaner and last longer between cleanings.
- Maintenance: Rinse the sponge roll periodically based on the bio load of your aquarium tank. The material holds up well to being rinsed and reused and allows great water flow.

Was skeptical when I received these in a vacuum sealed bag. I followed the directions in the bag to get them to expand properly and fits great. Very snug on top fin pf30 and pf40 filters that have a fairly large intake. Perfect length as well. The filter was not too fine to easily clog and not too coarse to defeat the purpose.

The media could not be loaded.I wanted to put a filter “sock” on my intake strainer (eheim 2215). Needed an internal diameter of about 1″. I tried others at 7/8″ inner dia but they were always a stretch which thinned the filter media and tore in many cases. This product came flat packed, I mean vacuum packed so the units were 1/8 in thick and rectangle, I was not going to be happy. But following the directions – soaking in water expanded the material and I now have a cylinder with perfect slot for my strainer to fit into. I’m hoping the material is durable, I’ll update after a few months as I learn more.

These come delivered to you house vacuumed sealed & flat. All that you have to do is soak them under lukewarm water for about 10 to 15 minutes & they will plump up to their original shape.

These almost fit my intake. I had to do some slight modifications as they were the closest size to my setup. They do what they were designed to and prevent small things from getting sucked up into the filter. They work as expected.These took over a month to get to me after ordering. In the meantime, I had to go buy replacements from the local pet store.
