I got this because I travel for work frequently, and don’t want to burden someone else to feed my fish. I liked the fact it is wifi enabled. I am that sort of nerd who likes gadgets like this, plus I can monitor to be sure the fish are being fed. Setup was typical to any other similar smart device like a smart plug or bulb.It comes with 4 removable/replaceable portion size bins, so it is easy to tailor how much food your fish get per feeding. I am using this on a 55 gallon tank with African Cichlids, so I chose the larger portion size. You have the option of hanging it on the side of your tank with the detachable thumb-screw tightening hanger. I chose to use the attached feet and just set it on top of the tank, which works nicely.The positives:1. Connection was fairly easy (see #2 below)2. The app allows you to schedule feeding more than once a day (every x hours,) or on a schedule, up to every 5 days. It also allows multiple feeding per day, which actually could be bad if you over feed. I generally feed every 2 days, so that is how I have it set: every 2 days at 19:00 (5pm).3. The feed hopper hold an ample amount of pellets and is easy to fill and also easy to visibly see how much food is left,The negatives:1. This is not Alexa or Google enabled, so you are bound to use their app. It is available for both iPhone and Android.2. This is manufactured in China, and the documentation and app are written in “Google Translate” English. You have to put on your thinking cap at some points to decipher what they are trying to tell you.3. I do not think this will work with flake food, only pellets.Overall, I am happy with this device. I would recommend it to anyone who works on the road or is going away for vacation. It also would be a handy thing for people who have elderly loved ones who may be getting forgetful or people with disabilities, to insure their fish get fed.
