Awesome Product ???

While betta fish thrives best in a 5 gallon tank, we’ve decided to get this smaller one, fully aware that it will require frequent water changes and all, which we’re used to doing with our older slim tank. This tank is a good size and it’s sturdy enough to withstand my little ones approaching it. The ambient sound is very soothing, and it’s easy to set up and operates well.

As much as I love fish tanks with sumps, I also love fish tanks with the filtration system built in making this tank the perfect tank to gift someone who might want their first fish but they lack the knowledge of setting up an aquarium when they find too many parts as part of the setup. Everything you need is included. Setup is extremely quick and easy! The size is perfect for small spaces or offices. Perfect for nano fish or shrimp. The price is perfect because you have the tank & filter built in. The suction of the filter is strong enough to keep the water clear.

The tank came with minimal instruction, but the hardware was mostly setup already. Mainly a matter of minding the power cords (USB-A plug to power filter, USB-C to USB-A plug to power lights). It did come with a small bag of white sand and a small Buddha statue as advertised, though I skipped using either of those (I don’t know if, but doubt, the included sand is enough to provide a full inch depth as was pictured). The divider to the filtration portion intentionally has a small gap at the bottom which would allow sand to gradually move past, so I think it would have been better to include small gravel pebbles as starter substrate instead, to prevent concerns from lighter sand grains from potentially clogging the pump. The cover can be completely pulled off the top, allowing full access to set up and maintain the tank. The in-built LEDs are decently bright, good enough for observation and plants that tolerate low lighting. While this is a very basic kit overall and doesn’t include support for timed lighting, it’s plausible to take advantage of the filter and light using separate USB cords with an external timer outlet. The whole included filter setup is removable so that only tiny raised grooves for the partition indicate that something extra could go in the tank. This allows using a more compact third-party filtration option, such as using a plain sponge filter if the tank is intended for shrimp or tiny baby fish. If the included filter setup is used, the pump is indeed very quiet when placed on top of the smaller chunk of filter sponge. The aquarium is suitable for a lot of purposes, including temporary housing of small fish, but it is an insufficient size to be used as-is for a long-term fish home. Even betta fish require a minimum of 5 gallons for optimal living (not just relying on their hardiness, as outdated advice based on misunderstanding their home environment takes advantage of). The listing is honest about the low capacity of the the tank, so I’m not rating against it being small, but potential purchasers should carefully investigate whether this product is truly appropriate for the specific critters they intend to keep.

I really like this fish tank. It is small. I’m not sure about putting a fish in there, because the smaller the tank the more you have to clean it. It’s pretty quiet sometimes the sand goes into the filter Even though there is a sponge there. It’s bright but not to powerful. Wish there was a timer. As far as value for the money it might be a bit expensive for a 1 gallon tank. 4 stars only because I don’t think you could put a fish in there, maybe if you clean it often
