   Works great. Some say hard to understand how to put together, however I found it very easy. Only compliant is I had to buy I adapter for attaching my hose to it since its 3/4 the barbed fitting and my hose is 1/2″.

   A 5 gallon tank is a bit small for this gravel vacuum because the motor has to remain submerged in the water at all times. A photo showed a slightly partial exposed pump and that’s what I had when I used it in a 5 gallon tank. it cleans very well. my tank water clogged the suction several times. I turn off the dial and unplugged and allowed the water to flow out in one direction towards the outake. I cleaned the necessary areas and turned it on to notice improved suction. The 5 gallon has algae tablets added for the catfish. The tank water was dark when the filtration was started. Algae in and underneath the substrate. I took longer to clean due to mishandling the hose in recirculation mode. I removed plant life and fish because it is a small tank. I suggest that the gravel vacuum is too big for the Imaginarium 5 gallon tank, but I’m keeping it because I was able to use it and get clean substrate and filter the algae and keep the pump inserted properly.
