I had a feeder with a smaller opening that my 4″ ranchu goldfish could not eat out of because she was to big. She would knock it off the wall or swim fast enough to cause the current to pull food out. This one is big enough she can use it without causing a mess. I strongly suggest this for larger fish.

Overall the product was exactly what I wanted for my tank. It didn’t take long for the inhabitants to use it.Unfortunately, I didn’t initially install the small grate provided and one of my fish swam up into the feeder tube overnight and died as a result. I like the feeder, just didn’t realize the possible danger. I hope you learn from my mistake.
