This is a DIY kit, to make a type of cover for a fish tank or other enclosure that could benefit from a net covering. The kit comes with rolls of magnetic strips that can attach to the side or top of the tank. (For the best adhesion – make sure the surface is really clean before sticking the strips on, or it may not work well!)Holes will have to be cut in the net for heaters and filters to go down into the tank. This can make the netting more floppy. It’s not a great lid for gerbils (who will chew the net for sure), or hamsters. Hermit crabs may climb on the bottom of the net. It’ll keep fish in, but I wouldn’t count on it keeping a cat out for sure, or holding it up if it’s sleeping on the lid.It could be great for a terrarium of plants or maybe frogs. It’s ok for keeping fish in, but it’s not my favorite lid contraption. It is what is says it is though – a DIY kit of a magnetically held on mesh lid.

It came labeled as a window screen, but I was able to easily make it work for my fish tank cover and I appreciated that I was able to customize it to go around the cords to my filter and heater, etc. The magnetic attachments make it easy to take on and off for cleaning the tank and feeding the fish.
