NOW FOR THE WATER USING STORE BOUGHT DRINKING WATER API BRAND QUICK START & STRESS ZIME & AQUARIUM SALT.25%WATER CHANGE EVERY 10-12 DAYS. PH OF WATER IS KEPT AT 7.5-7.7 USING BRITEWELL AQUATICS PH+ CHECKED WITH APERA INSTRUMENTS PH 20 METER. I SEE NO REASON TO TRY TO IMPROVE ON THIS.WATER TEMP IS KEPT AT 75 DEG.

The media could not be loaded.I only gave 4 stars because it’s so loud! I had a cheap Whisper 60 on it and there was no sound. Got this and it’s a great filter! Lots of media space, easily customized with your own media preference. Nice water flow adjustment that actually works unlike Fluval flow adjustment that does practically nothing. It’s still better than the Seachem Tidal filters that have way too much bypass. However this 450 is insanely loud even turned down to half flow. The bio wheels just make noise. Only thing you could do is remove them all together. Most people say the wheels aren’t very good at bio filtration anyway.

I have used Marineland filters for years. I really like the bio wheel technology, but the filters are noisy. At first I thought it was just the water spilling back into the tank under the bio wheel. I tried everything to quiet it, and finally just had to live with a loud filter. That was the Marineland 350.I just bought the new Marineland 375 for my 55 gallon tank. This has the pump inside the tank vs outside the tank.Wow – what a difference one day makes!This new filter is really really quiet. I should have replaced my perfectly good, but noisy, filter with this new one long ago.I am just happy I finally did find this one.Buy it, and your ears will thank you!
